Ferric Maltol or Iron (III) Maltol or iron(3+) 2-methyl-4-oxopyran-3-olate is an iron containing supplement for the treatment of adults with low iron stores. It is taken by mouth. Ferric Maltol is an effective and well-tolerated alternative to oral iron salts for some patients.
