1-Dodecanol or Lauryl Alcohol or Dodecyl Alcohol is a colorless thick liquid with a sweet odor. It is used as a cosmetic, a pheromone, an insect attractant, a plant metabolite and an insecticide. It is also used in detergents, lubricating oils, and pharmaceuticals.
