Diethyl oxalate or Ethyl oxalate or Ethanedioic acid diethyl ester or Diethyl ethanedioate appears as a colorless liquid. Slightly denser than water and insoluble in water. It is used as a solvent for plastics and in the manufacture of perfumes and pharmaceuticals.
