Allyl chloride or 3-Chloropropene or 3-Chloropropylene is the organic compound with the formula CH2=CHCH2Cl. This colorless liquid is insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents. Allyl Chloride is used in preparation of allyl alcohol and other allyl derivatives, thermosetting resins for varnishes, plastics, adhesives, synthesis of pharmaceuticals glycerol and insecticides.
