5,5-Dithiobis(2-Nitro Benzoic Acid) or 3-Carboxy-4-nitrophenyl disulfide or 6,6′-Dinitro-3,3′-dithiodibenzoic acid or Bis(3-carboxy-4-nitrophenyl) disulfide or DTNB or Elman's reagent is a reagent for the determination of reactive sulfhydryl groups by absorbance measurements. It is used primarily for the determination of sulfhydryl and disulfide groups in proteins.
